Savannah is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Savannah is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Georgia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We have been to many mansions across America. This one was one of our least favorite. The house itself is in great condition. But the story isn't that compelling and none of the contents are original. You can do better, even in Savannah. Try Mercer-Williams or Andrew Low first. If you still have a mansion itch after those two, maybe give this one a try.

Tried to visitor on saint Paddy's day but it was shut so thankfully we made it the next day. What a fantastic house with some really innovative features for when it was built. Apparently it cost over 90 thousand dollars to build in the day, a terrific amount of money. Our guide (Leeanne, I think) was fantastic, who would have thought me Scouser wife would find a Liverpool fan as our guide in Savannah, Georgia. Great knowledge of the house and it's previous owners, don't miss this place if in Savannah. PS Bonus, Liverpool won that night's match. I guess our guide was happy.

We happened to stumble upon this place when we went to see the Cathedral. A tour was starting just as we arrived. We paid and went for it, not really knowing any of the history. This was the best surprise of the day! This place is beautiful and all the original features plus time period artifacts made for a very wonderful tour. The guides were great and very knowledgeable about the home and events fro the time that relate to the home.If you happen to be in the area we 100% recommend taking a tour. The building is beautiful and historic but unlike other homes that are now open for tours this one is used regularly by the church and for weddings or other events.

Of the homes I toured, this one has some of the best history and beauty. I would call this one a must-see. Interestingly owned and operated by a church, it is used for certain church activities as well as guided tours. The docents were quite well informed.

I went on a guided tour here and it was awesome. The docent was very knowledgeable and engaging. He interacted well with those in attendence. He was also fully transparent as to which artifacts were to the house and which weren't. The house is well maintained. The stories accompanying the rooms were both educational and informative. I would definitely recommend coming here.
